WRAP UP: February 2014

It’s March already, and even though I haven’t been blogging much, I still want to show what books I read this month. It wasn’t a great reading month. I have been busy with other things, like making friends and studying. But I managed to read 4 books in this month. Also, February is a very short month so it’s not too bad I read a little less books than usual – is that a good enough excuse? I don’t think so. And I don’t think March will be a great reading month either since I will have exams in March again, and I need to focus on that. But my plan for the coming weeks is to read as much as I can, and to get in more of a flow with blogging, I am going to post a blogpost at least every Monday and Friday. Monday will be mostly reviews, because I have read some great books lately which I haven’t reviewed yet, and every Friday you’ll see a Friday’s Five about some random book-related stuff. I hope that since I state my blogging plans here, I’ll be able to keep my promises and not get lazy or distracted again. But let’s see what books I read in February:

Russian Winter by Daphne Kalotay

The first book I read was Russian Winter. This book is a about Nina Revskaya, who was a ballerina in Soviet Russia during the Cold War. Now she lives in Boston and she is about to put her jewelry collection up for auction. Drew is setting up the auction for Nina, and has her own personal interests in Soviet Russia. Grigori Solodin is a professor and he was adopted when he was a little boy. He believes that Nina’s jewelry can help him find out who his birth parents are. The book is told from all four different perspectives: Nina as a ballerina in Soviet Russia, Nina as an old lady in Boston, Drew and Grigori. I really liked this book, and I will explain why in a review next week!

Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi

I read this second book in the Touching Juliette trilogy on Valentine’s day. Sadly enough my only valentines were my lovely cat and this book. But I had an amazing day just cuddling up with this great book! After reading Shatter Me, I heard people talking about being on team Warner, but I couldn’t imagine liking him at all. But while reading Unravel Me I think I fell in love with him. I own both Shatter Me and Unravel Me in paperback, so I want to wait until the paperback of Ignite Me comes out in 32 days. I already pre-ordered it at the Book Depository, but I am not sure if I am able to wait this long and I am considering buying Ignite Me for my Kobo as well.

Pandemonium and Requiem by Lauren Oliver

The last two books I read this month are the last two books of the Delirium trilogy. I really loved these books, and I also loved the ending to this trilogy. I am not going to tell anything about these two books because I don’t want to spoil Delirium, but you should definitely read them if you haven’t! I will be posting reviews of these books as well in the coming weeks.
