“The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 12th and runs through Sunday, May 18th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. Yay, a read-a-thon! I’ve heard many things about the Bout of Books read-a-thon, but I have never participated in one myself. And although this time might not be perfect timing for me, I really want to participate because I want to experience the fun of a read-a-thon myself! I have heard many great things about read-a-thons and others make it sounds like so much fun, so I can’t wait! The week of this read-a-thon will be a really crazy week for me in college with a lot of deadlines for assignments, but I hope I can finish a lot of my college work in the weekend and read my books during the week. But because I know this is going to be a busy week and it is my first read-a-thon, I am not going to set myself any large goals. My goal for this read-a-thon is to read at least one hour a day, and more if I have the time. I don’t know which books I want to read yet, because I always read what I feel like at that particular moment. But some books that are really high on my TBR list are Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins, Paper Towns by John Green and Harry Potter and the Deathy Hallows by J.K. Rowling. But I’ll tell you what I’ve actually read in a wrap up after the read-a-thon!
