You haven’t been able to see much of my Summer of 50 Challenge since I announced it last week, but that is because I was in Prague with some friends, celebrating the fact that we finished the first year of college! We saw a lot of this beautiful city, we had a pick-nick in the park, we went dancing in a nice club, and I SAW THE TFIOS MOVIE! The release date of this movie in the Netherlands was initially set on June 6th, but they pushed it back to July 10th! That is more than a month! I was really disappointed when I found out, but then I remembered that I would be in the Czech Republic for a few days, where the movie was already out. So I dragged my friends to the cinema in Prague, and I watched the TFIOS movie with Czech subtitles, which was really interesting. None of my friends had read the book, and during the movie I started feeling guilty that I took them to see this movie because the two friends that were sitting next to me were sobbing loudly throughout the movie. But that also proves how powerful this story is and how amazing this movie is. In the next part I will tell you more about what I thought about it, but WARNING: THE NEXT PART CONTAINS SPOILERS. If you haven’t read the books, the spoilers will be major. If you have read the book but not seen the movie yet, they will be mild spoilers I think.

I’m participating in the Bout of Books read-a-thon!

“The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 12th and runs through Sunday, May 18th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 10 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. “– From the Bout of Books team

Yay, a read-a-thon! I’ve heard many things about the Bout of Books read-a-thon, but I have never participated in one myself. And although this time might not be perfect timing for me, I really want to participate because I want to experience the fun of a read-a-thon myself! I have heard many great things about read-a-thons and others make it sounds like so much fun, so I can’t wait! The week of this read-a-thon will be a really crazy week for me in college with a lot of deadlines for assignments, but I hope I can finish a lot of my college work in the weekend and read my books during the week. But because I know this is going to be a busy week and it is my first read-a-thon, I am not going to set myself any large goals. My goal for this read-a-thon is to read at least one hour a day, and more if I have the time. I don’t know which books I want to read yet, because I always read what I feel like at that particular moment. But some books that are really high on my TBR list are Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins, Paper Towns by John Green and Harry Potter and the Deathy Hallows by J.K. Rowling. But I’ll tell you what I’ve actually read in a wrap up after the read-a-thon! If you want to follow my progress during the week, you can follow my twitter account on which I’ll probably be updating about my reading. You can also add me on Goodreads to see what I’m doing during the read-a-thon.

My Dutch bookblogger friend Sanne got an invitation to attend the wedding reception/book launch party of Tahereh Mafi and Ransom Riggs. She was allowed to bring a guest and she was kind enough to invite me! Publishing companies Blossom Books and Clavis organized this wedding reception to present the Dutch translations of Ignite Me and Hollow City. I was super excited I could come as well!
