FRIDAY’S FIVE: Fictional crushes

boys in books are better

First of all, excuse me for being one day late with this Friday’s Five, but exams have been killing me. But I finally had my last exam yesterday and this weekend I’m going to enjoy all the freedom by reading, watching TV shows and staying in my pyjamas all day. And of course I’ll also write some blogposts. Starting with this one, in which I’m going to show you my fictional crushes. Because we all know that boys in books are just better, aren’t they?

FRIDAY’S FIVE: Favorite Contemporary Books

Friday’s Five: the category on my blog in which I list 5 of the same subject. Today I will show you my five favorite contemporary books. Lately, I have been getting more into contemporary books. FRIDAY’S FIVE: Favorite series/trilogies

Source: weheartit

Source: weheartit

Over the time I have read quite some series. I have always liked series as I child, because that meant I could have all kinds of different adventures with the same characters I already knew. And that is what I still like about series: I get to spend more time with the same characters. I especially like books that are set in different worlds to be in series. This gives the author more space to develop the characters and the world, and it gives me more time to explore the world and get attached to the characters. So in today’s Friday’s Five I’ll show you what my favorite finished series and trilgoies are.

FRIDAY’S FIVE: Classics I need to read

One of my bookish resolutions for 2014 was to read more classics. I am ashamed of how little classics I have read; the only ones are Pride and Prejudice and The Hobbit. So I decided I should read some more classics. There is a reason that we consider certain books as classics nowadays, and I want to find out what is so great about them. I know very little about classics, because I didn’t have to read them in high school. I only know about and read some Dutch classics, but that’s all. So if you recommend any great classics, please let me know in the comments! But these are the classics that I really want to read soon:

FRIDAY’S FIVE: Book to movie adaptations in 2014

2014 is going to be a busy year for the YA movie industry. So many good books are being made into movies, and I can’t wait to see those movies. I hope that they will stay true to the book though, because I don’t like it when a book I have read is made into a movie and they change all kinds of things. But Catching Fire gave me hope for this year. Catching Fire was such a good movie because the movie was very similar to the book. I especially love how they used exact quotes from the books in this movie. And I hope that the book to movie adaptations that are coming out this year, will be amazing as well.

FRIDAY’S FIVE: 24Hour Read-a-Thon TBR

I think I have mentioned it before, but this Sunday I will participate in a 24 Hour Read-a-Thon. It will be hosted by Brianna, and you can read about the details in her blog post and you can sign up here. I am not sure if I will be able to read for a full 24 hours, but I’ll try. And today I will be showing you the books that I will be reading during this read-a-thon. I am not sure if I will be able to read all five, but I am just going to show five because that’s what I do at Friday’s Five. (; We’ll see how many I’ll be able to read in 24 hours. Continue reading

FRIDAY’S FIVE: Favourite Books of 2013

I know 2013 is not completely over yet, but there are only two Fridays left so I feel like I should tell you about my favourite books of 2013. 2013 Was a special year for me, in which a lot of things happened. I graduated high school, I started college, I moved out and I live on my own now, and I rediscovered my love for reading. In this post I won’t be discussing books that released in 2013, but books that I read in 2013. So far, I have read 25 books in 2013. I know this is not a lot, but considering that I only really started reading in July it is OK for me. I’ll also be joining Brianna from Brianna’s Bookish Confessions in a 24hour Read-a-Thonhon on Sunday December 29th. Btw, if you also want to join, you can sign up here. So there will be some more books for 2013. But so far, these are my favourites:
