At the end of May and the beginning of June I was so busy with writing essays and taking exams to finish up my first year of college, that I didn’t even have the time to write a short wrap up post. But don’t worry, I will add the books that I’ve read in May to this post as well. I didn’t read that much in both of these months, so this wrap up won’t be too long. I plan on reading a lot more books in July, because I will have a lot more time in July than I had in the past few months. But I won’t be making a TBR anymore, because I found that I just like to pick just whatever I feel like, and not having to keep to a set schedule. But I’m getting ahead of myself, here are the books that I’ve read in May and June!
Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver and This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen
Last week was my first time participating in the bout of books read-a-thon, in which I didn’t do as well as I expected I would. But looking back, I think my goals were a little unrealistic, because I planned on reading 3 books in a week, while I usually only read 1 book a week. And I new this week I would have to do a lot of uni work this week as well, so my goals were a little too enthusiastic. However, I read 2 books this week which is actually twice as much as I usually read, so in that aspect you might say that this read-a-thon was a success. I started this read-a-thon with Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver, which took me about 5 days to read since I was so busy. However, I did really like this book and I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. I will write a full review of this book soon! The other book that I read was This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen. It was my second Sarah Dessen book, because I have read The Truth About Forever about a year ago, and I really loved it. However, I didn’t like This Lullaby as much as The Truth About Forever. My main problem with this book was that I found it really hard to identify with Remy, the protagonist. She is very bitter and doesn’t believe in love at all, and I am a sucker for love so I find it hard to identify with her. But besides from that, the story was really cute and I gave it 3 out of 5 stars. A full review will be up soon!
What books did you read last week?
Whut? Is it May already? I know I say this every month but if time keeps going at this pace I’ll be graduating before I realize it! On the other hand, time going so fast means that it is almost summer already! I hope I’ll have my last exam on June 12th, which is in 42 days, and after that I’ll have plenty of time to read. So that’s not too bad. But let’s not get ahead of myself, it is only the beginning of May and I’m going to show what books I’ve read in April first. I read 4 books and 2 (or 4? Does the Delirium Stories count as 1 or 3?) novellas. Click on ‘continue reading’ to see what I read in April and what I plan on reading in May!
And… it is April again! Time to show what books I’ve read in March. And this month I’ll do something new as well: I’ll show what I’m going to read in April. Well, I don’t have every book planned out, but I’d like to pick some books that I plan on reading next month. I’ve never made a TBR list before, because I prefer to just pick a book based on my mood. But there are some books on my shelves that I’d really like to read, but I somehow never pick them up. Therefore, I will make a TBR list and try to pick some of these books as well in the next month because I know that once I start them, I’ll love them. Let’s go!
It’s March already, and even though I haven’t been blogging much, I still want to show what books I read this month. It wasn’t a great reading month. I have been busy with other things, like making friends and studying. But I managed to read 4 books in this month. Also, February is a very short month so it’s not too bad I read a little less books than usual – is that a good enough excuse? I don’t think so. And I don’t think March will be a great reading month either since I will have exams in March again, and I need to focus on that. But my plan for the coming weeks is to read as much as I can, and to get in more of a flow with blogging, I am going to post a blogpost at least every Monday and Friday. Monday will be mostly reviews, because I have read some great books lately which I haven’t reviewed yet, and every Friday you’ll see a Friday’s Five about some random book-related stuff. I hope that since I state my blogging plans here, I’ll be able to keep my promises and not get lazy or distracted again. But let’s see what books I read in February:
So, January has flown by and it is already February again! I guess it’s time now to show you what books I have read in the first month of the year. I’ll warn you up front: It is a lot of Vampire Academy! I read five books in only twelve days, which is quite a lot for me. And after that my exams started so I didn’t really had the time to start new books. Well, I might have had some time, but I know myself and when I start a book, I can’t put it down anymore but I couldn’t afford to do that during the exams. Next to the Vampire Academy I read two more books, so that makes a total of 7 books for this month. Not my best reading month, but not too bad either considering I have been reading so many study books as well in order to prepare for my exams. But let’s go, this is what I read:
Happy 2014! The last month of 2013 has gone by so quickly and I can’t believe it is 2014 already. I hope you all had some great holidays and I wish you all the best for 2014. But before rushing into the new year, I am going to show you what books I have read in December. I read 7 books, which I think is really great. I participated in a 24 hour read-a-thon this month as well, which sort of failed because I slept for 8 hours. But I managed to read 2 amazing books during the time that I was awake, so it is not really a fail. And they were pretty big books as well: all in all I have read 813 pages, which is actually pretty good! But these are all the books I read in December:
